Interview Summary

Summarize your interview in this section. Be sure to relate concise information about:

· the health care organization that was discussed in the interview.

· the relevant issues at the organization.

· any relevant comments on the actions taken by the organization or leadership previously and their effectiveness.

Issue Identification

Identify the issue from the interview for which you consider an evidence-based interdisciplinary approach appropriate. Provide one or more specific reasons why an interdisciplinary approach would be appropriate for the issue.

Change Theories That Could Lead to an Interdisciplinary Solution

For this section, look to the literature and describe one or more change theories that would help to develop an interdisciplinary solution to the identified issue. Also, you should briefly note the relevance and credibility of the sources that you cite.

Another way to think through this section is:

· What is the change theory?

· How could it help create an interdisciplinary solution?

· How relevant is the theory to the specific identified issue?

· How credible is the source?

Leadership Strategies That Could Lead to an Interdisciplinary Solution

This section is similar to the previous one, except you will be looking to the literature to help you describe one or more leadership strategy that would help you develop an interdisciplinary solution to the identified issue. reflection on your work and experiences in this course

Create a 2-page reflection on your work and experiences in this course.

Doctoral-level health care professionals have many opportunities to reflect on their contributions to their field and organization. After completing any portion of a project, it is important to evaluate how well it met its objectives. Such evaluation enables practitioners and leaders to explore and reflect on their experiences and identify opportunities for future improvement.

This assessment provides an opportunity for you to reflect on your achievements, challenges, and improvement opportunities related to your work on your doctoral project and at your project site during this course. By reflecting on these areas, you can deepen your critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as locate your position on your project journey as you progress to the next course.

One way you could organize your reflection is to take a simplified gap-analysis approach for each of the four main topics for the reflection:

· What happened?

. What did you do and what were the results of your work?

. Remember to mention the relevant evidence you used to guide your approach to your work.

· What went well?

· What did not go well?

. How did actual events differ from your predictions?

. If relevant, mention the evidence that helped you formulate your prediction about what should have happened.

· How are your experiences changing your thinking, analysis, and communication patterns?

. How can you use this information to improve?

. If relevant, look to the literature to support your potential changes.

While you may use any appropriate approach to organize your reflection, be sure that you address the following scoring guide criteria
:

· Reflect on process, outcomes, success, and opportunities for improvement related to the development of your QI/PI framework.

· Reflect on process, outcomes, success, and opportunities for improvement related to the development of your project implementation plan and logic model.

· Reflect on process, outcomes, success, and opportunities for improvement related to collaboration and other relevant work at the project site.

· Integrate support from scholarly and authoritative sources to strengthen claims and substantiate decision making.

ethical decision

Eleanor Thompson, a 72-year-old woman, has been battling an aggressive form of ovarian cancer for the past three years. Despite undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, her condition has deteriorated, and she is now experiencing severe pain and suffering. Eleanor’s oncologist, Dr. Samuel Martinez, has presented the family with the option of another experimental treatment, but he has also suggested considering transitioning to palliative care. Eleanor’s family is deeply divided on the decision. Her eldest daughter, Maria, believes that every possible treatment should be pursued, holding onto hope for a miracle. She argues that her mother has always been a fighter and would want to continue the battle against her illness. On the other hand, Eleanor’s son, Michael, feels that his mother has suffered enough. He believes that transitioning to palliative care would allow her to spend her remaining days in comfort and peace. Caught in the middle is Eleanor’s husband of 50 years, Robert. He is torn between wanting to honor his wife’s fighting spirit, desiring to ease her pain, and the painful finality of either decision. The healthcare team must navigate a complex ethical landscape. Beneficence, the principle of doing good, pushes the team to consider what would truly benefit Eleanor in terms of quality of life. Non-maleficence, or “do no harm,” raises questions about the potential suffering Eleanor might endure with further aggressive treatments. Lastly, the principle of justice requires the team to treat Eleanor fairly and equitably, ensuring her needs are met regardless of family disagreements.

developing clinical partnerships. week 3

you will focus on developing clinical partnerships.

In your text, Teaching in Nursing and the Role of the Nurse Educator, the authors examine several different types of clinical partnerships and models of clinical education.  Clinical partnerships must meet the needs of the educational institution and the clinical agency.  Colleges of nursing often compete for the same clinical slots and are dependent on effective clinical partnerships.  Sustaining good relationships are critical to providing optimal learning experiences for students. There is typically a clinical coordinator at the college and another at the clinical agency.  The nurses in these leadership positions have the primary responsibility for negotiating partnerships and determining clinical placement.

Put yourself in the place of one of these two individuals (academic or agency coordinator), whichever you prefer. Conduct research to better learn the roles, responsibilities, and challenges of the position.  In addition to the book, which is fairly theoretical, find articles that might direct you in a more practical way as you negotiated clinical partnerships from either position.

Sources: You can use any of the posted articles and your books as references. Find at least two additional peer-reviewed nursing journal articles that relate to your area of focus.
