The Matrix is a personal critical appraisal of key studies contributing to the body of evidence related to your clinical topic and proposed project. This matrix represents your synthesis of articles you find most relevant to your proposed evidence-based project.  This matrix is not only a class assignment but should be a tool you use throughout your journey towards the completion of your project. As your accumulation of evidence grows, so should your matrix so you are able to locate valuable information easily! 

For this assignment, you will appraise 10 articles related to your project, sharing all pertinent data you can in the matrix form. Please view the sample matrix as a visual guide as to what information should be gathered. Remember, this is evidence for change and should be relevant, reflect useful data, and be current.

According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the Masters prepared nurse “recognizes that the master’s-prepared nurse applies research outcomes within the practice setting, resolves practice problems, works as a change agent, and disseminates results.” Many research ideas emerge from practice and/or the educational environment. Formulating a well-built research question is challenging. Asking the right question facilitates the search process when conducting a review of the literature.

• After reading the article, create your own PICOT question around the topic you selected that will be used for your Unit 2 Introduction to an Evidence-Based Practice Problem. In your discussion post, complete the following:
  1. Describe your selected topic (HEALTHCARE EQUITY) and its significance
  2. Share and discuss your created PICOT question.

Responses need to address all components of the question, demonstrate critical thinking and analysis, and include peer reviewed journal evidence to support the student’s position.

Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.
