You have decided to research and decide what models of leadership you will use in your new position.

Leadership Development Challenge

This assignment is designed to create foundations for you in the leadership development area by discussing key elements of leadership, influence, and communication in the human resource profession. This will also set the stage for your application of these foundations in the upcoming course assignments.

There are many ways to research leadership theories. The course text The Leadership Experience compiles a clear overview of current leadership theories in Chapter 1, “What Does It Mean to Be a Leader?” Using this text allows you to examine a variety of relevant leadership theories from a single source. Additional resources are also provided to supplement the course text and provide additional perspectives.

This paper should be well-organized and cover the following elements.

  • Write an introduction that outlines why you are writing this paper.
  • Describe unique characteristics of human resource leadership.
    • Introduce the unique characteristics of leadership for the human resource professional.
  • Explain how leadership theories apply to human resource leadership.
    • Select two leadership theories that resonate for you as the foundation for your leadership style and approach and explain their relevance.
  • Explain the importance of influence to human resource leadership.
    • Provide examples of how you will use this leadership information in your new role as a human resource supervisor.
    • Discuss not only how you will lead your team but how this will impact your relationships throughout the organization.
  • Write a conclusion that wraps up and summarizes your document.

As our course draws to a close I hope we are starting to better see the sheer scope of ‘Outdoor Education’.  As we quickly and lightly scratched the surface of 10+ topics in the past few weeks I wanted to create a space for you to unpack and continue exploring any additional subject of your choosing.

Please choose one prompt below and answer in a text response.  200 Words Paper

· Reflect on current representation of Outdoor Education and the Backcountry in film and television. Critically watch and analyze examples of film/series/etc and consider the impact they might have on their audiences. How did your understanding of Outdoor Education change from the first week of this course?

The Importance of Reflection

As we look back on 15 weeks of this course, I hope we remember that nearly all our early Experiential Education Champions (from the week 2 reading) identified Critical Reflection as a key element to Outdoor Education and broader Experiential Education.

Reflection (also referred to as Debriefing) helps us create connections between seemingly disconnected experiences and across gaps in time. By purposely pausing, during/after an experience, we can reorient our current thoughts, knowledge and emotions to the beginning of the experience, to another situation in our lives, and/or toward the future.

We can reflect on any element of the experience and gain some new understanding(s) that we can apply to future experiences.

Kolbs Reflective Cycle- (remove the narrators use of ‘teach

Please answer three guided reflection questions, and two questions that you create for yourself.

*Reflections do not have to relate directly to subject material. Review your work from the entire course, and any reading that were meaningful to you and draw any conclusions that are readily available on a personal level.

1. How did your understanding of Outdoor Education change from the first week of this course? How did your concept/perception of the Back Country change? (review your introduction from Week 1 if you need a reminder)

2. Reflecting on your academic career, would you like to see more Outdoor Education strategies practiced; in the elementary setting, in the secondary setting, in the collegiate setting? In what ways could Outdoor Educational practices be implemented at these levels? What might be the effects (positive or negative)?

3. Now What? How can you apply something that you learned to any of the following spheres-

1. Your social life

1. Family

2. Friends

2. Your Academic self

3. Your professional environment

4. Personally/Internally

4 and 5. Create two additional Reflection Questions and answer them.

First, identify a firm that would like consumers to change the attitudes of its consumers.

You are expected to comment on this discussion topic based on your learnings from textbook, PowerPoint slides, and other resources such as articles from google scholar or library. Your comment must be minimum of 200 words. https: //youtu.be/- JKtPntB6is

NOTE: If any article have to be used, they must be from google scholar

First, identify a firm that would like consumers to change the attitudes of its consumers. Think about different attitude change strategies discussed in the book, then discuss strategies that could be used in an advertising or promotional campaign to bring about this change.

You should consider cost effectiveness and feasibility in your evaluation. For example, it is very difficult to change currently held beliefs. Therefore, if you suggest trying to do this, you must specify how and how realistic you expect this effort to be. Note that if you suggest heavy repetition of an advertising campaign, the firm or organization in question should have the resources to be able to afford this.

Elements of Effective Differentiated Instruction

Topic: Elements of Effective Differentiated Instruction

DB 1 Thread: After reading “A Case in Point” at the beginning of Chapter 1 in Sousa and Tomlinson (2018) and also “A Better Scenario” at the end of the same chapter, reflect on these two contrasting situations.  Do so in light of one of the topics from the body of the chapter.  Below are some options, but you may choose another as long as it is relevant to concepts presented in the chapter one reading.  Consider implications of these concepts to Mrs. Worrell.  Your post is to be at least 200 words in length and should include one in-text parenthetical citation of the textbook in current APA format.  Also, at the bottom of your thread, insert the reference format for the textbook.

Instructions: At this point, you will submit your final Research Paper evaluating your chosen policy and making recommendations based on your research. Your Research Paper should include the following components:

Abstract: Please provide an abstract (one paragraph) for your paper. (I did not see this in your instructions but I do want it included.)

:Introduction

  • Identification of the issue
  • Description of the background context and significance of the issue
  • The research question behind this project
  • Literature Review
  • Methods
  • Findings from your data collection
  • Public Score Card

Remember to support your evaluation of this issue and your recommendations with the data you collected and any additional information you learned from your literature review.

Submission: Your Research Paper should be about 12-15 pages (about 3,000-3,750 words) in length.

Program Reflection 6

Since this is the final course in your journey through the PPA program, it is worth reflecting on what you are learning and how it connects with work you have done up to this point. In this module, we are examining how to devise best practices. Consider your prior coursework. How has your prior learning shaped your experience in, or provided a foundation for, your perspective on this topic?

Project Stage 5

Instructions

Introduction: Throughout this course, you will be working on a staged project researching a public policy issue as identified in your project proposal. At this point, you are being asked to present your findings and evaluation to your classmates and instructor.

Instructions: At this point, you will present your project to the instructor and your peers. Your presentation should include the following components:

  1. An introduction to the policy issue and its background
  2. Your methods and results from data collection
  3. An evaluation of the impact of this policy, as supported by your findings. Include in your evaluation about how you would score this policy on the Public Value
  4. Scorecard. If appropriate or relevant, consider including a Legitimacy and Support Perspective analysis of an Operational Capacity Perspective analysis as well
  5. Recommendations regarding this policy and why you are making the recommendations
  6. Conclusions based on your research, including any future research that may be needed

The Presentation should be 10-12 minutes in length. It should be narrated. Remember to be clear and professional in your delivery, as if you were delivering this to the appropriate governmental agency.

For some additional guidance on designing presentations, see the How to Design A Good PowerPoint Presentation page in this module. Remember that your presentation should be a narrated PowerPoint (or you may use Panopto or MoveNote). It helps to script what you are going to say before you narrate it.

You may submit your presentation as either a narrated PowerPoint or you may use Panopto or MoveNote to record it and submit this version. Instructions for recording your presentation as a video with these tools is available on the Recording a Presentation module page.
